I have a 1988 American Standard Strat. From what I've learned, these guitars were made in small batches by hand. I've heard these are some of the nicer post CBS Strats out there. I love mine, Vintage White with a rosewood fretboard. Does anyone else have one of these fine guitar and/or know more about them?

This is a 1988 American Standard Stratocaster in Olympic White, the antique yellowing is all natural :) I bought it brand new from Guitar Center in 1989, it was advertised as one of 30 in southern California and 200 nationwide. But it was also advertised as The Jimi Hendrix Commemerative Stratocaster Sale, the sale commemerated Jimi, not the Strat, so I don't know how milseading they were about the Rarity. I also don't know if it's the same as yours, but I love to go on about my White "Gramma" Strat. It's served for 16 years befor the pickups went harmonic. Now it awaits new pick ups and intonation.

:D Nice! Ours do look almost exactly the same. The color is the same. Mine must have been Olympic White at first. It has also yellowed nicely with age. The only difference in our guitars is that mine doesn't have the floyd rose.[/url]

Beautiful. I have to admit it looks nicer with a regular tremelo on it.

Hey, FirstMeasure! I saw on another post that you are going to put new pickups in your 88 Strat. Let me know what you get and how they sound. I'm thinking of putting some new pups in my 88 Strat also. I think I might put in some of the vintage reissues or maybe the Tex Mex?

FirstMeasure - that sure looks like a heavy duty Floyd Rose on your strat! Too bad we can't get an American like that today!

secretsoundz- It'll be a couple months before I get around to it, but I'll let you know how it comes out.

Strataholic- Heavy duty is right. It's a Floyd Rose licensed Kahler Spyder. I think they only made them for a year, then Floyd Rose started bogarting the patent.

This is a really nice looking guitar. White with rosewood is one of the best Strats for looking at. The smaller tremelo looks better, too, but I like the deep dives.

This is a 1990 Fender American Standard Strat (close enough to 1988) - I have a number of USA Fenders and Gibsons but this is my Number one. That was a very good period for Fender between 1987 to 1999

looks shoreline gold but that is the warm colour balance when photographed

This is more its true colour in natural light - inca silver

Even in the sun Inca silver looks vey bronze, and very good. Is that a Red Knob deluxe '85 in the back ground?

Thanks, I love this Baby. I also just found out it was made in the Corona Factory between 1988 and 1989, thanks to this website.
