Hey All,

Looking at possibly buying a 1985 Contemporary Stratocster. It's made in Japan and has a neck plate with the serial number A+6 digits.

S/S/S configuration with a maple board and System-3 trem. It's in pretty decent condition but I can't seem to figure out what a fair price would be. Not too many on eBay and a few that have recently sold were E series.

Not sure if that should make much difference. Any input would be appreciated.

I don't know for sure, but I would say about $400 max if it's in good shape.

Don't have any pics, unfortunately. Just trying to get a ballpark figure. I read somewhere that $600 to $1,000 for the A series but I couldn't confirm that and it seemed a bit high to me.

$400, as Jason has suggested, might be the most I'll be willing to shell out if that's a fair market value.

OK. I have 3 Left Handed mid 80's MIJ Strats and prices were between $300 - $700
So $400 - $600 would be a good price if it's in decent shape.
