Hello Stratoexperts, Ever since i changed my Strats pickguard, the bridge pickup sounds kind of dull, the other 2 pickups are allright, i don´t remember (my teflon memory) well the height it had prior to the pickguard change.
So maybe it´s been asked before, but what´s the correct height adjustment, should the pickup be parallel?, high?, low?, should one end of the pickup be higher than the other? Can someone xplan technically how these differences affect the sound plz? I want it to sound as loud as possible, but something´s strange and i know i didn´t scew up the electronics cause it works well, it´s just that issue.
thanx.

I may start with the standard height and then I always adjust up or down by ear. In fact I just really set them by ear, what sounds best to me.YMMV!!

Something I posted a while back. Hope it helps,
What you want to try to accomplish is find the sweet spot in your pup height. That means either raising or lowering them. Too high=loud, less sustain and muddy, too low and a weak sounding pup. It's all about getting the right tone and the perfect sustain. A perfect balance! It may take a few minutes but it's well worth the effort. Also adjust side to side so both E strings have the same volume. MHO!

Here is the whole thread about this subject,

Its all realitive to your taste. A lot of people raise it all the way up while plugged into an amp then back it down a little at a time until the warble effect goes away. To me, I'd start with the pickup almost flush and work it back up one side at a time while plugged into the amp until my ideal sound comes through... Try one of those two options. Side note, typically the low E is higher than the high E.... Lace sensors and EMG are a different story..
