I just ordered a Classic Player 60's Strat online. I've been pondering getting one for quite awhile now but have always dismissed them due to the two-point bridge. But after doing some further reading about blocking the tremolo and adding more springs etc., I don't think I will have any problem with them. And let's face it. A 12" radius neck with medium jumbos should really rip.

For those of you that own the same guitar feel free to post thoughts on the instrument.

Congrats, what did you pull the trigger on?
I believe you'll be very pleased with it.

Mine will be 3-tone Sunburst. I dislike Sonic Blue. Too bad the guitar is not available in Daphne Blue but then again my technician could probably paint it accordingly.

I actually have the 3 tsb, funny because now I want the
sonic blue.
Play with the pickup height. I'm impressed on what differences
it makes few mm up or down from the strings.

But of course you probably know that.

I will be replacing the pickups with Dimarzio Vertical Humbuckers. Area 67's in the neck and middle and a Virtual Vintage 54 Pro in the bridge.

So you haven't even got the guitar but you already have a long list of mods? May I suggest that you play the guitar before you start thinking of swapping things out. I had one of these and it was a great guitar stock.

I have to agree with Yogi here. One of the unique features of the CP 60s is the pick-ups, and you're already talking about replacing them. It's your guitar, so you can do what you want. I don't understand why you don't just get a cheap/used MiM in good condition and swap out the neck for one with a 12" radius. You'd probably save yourslef some money. Just my two cents.

Sounds like you have a great guitar on order. The tremolo is awesome, it shouldn't be a problem. If you really worried about it, get the hipshot trem setter. That should help.

As a matter of fact, the 3 tsb CP 60s is my first electric guitar, though atm, my only one (seriously looking at a Joe Strummer Tele).
I've haven't had many other guitars to get used to, so I can't really put it up against anything else. I paid about $800 for it some about 6 months ago, brand new in store, so it certainly wasn't overpriced.
IMHO, I love most things about it. The fretboard radius, is magnificent, aswell as the two-point vintage bridge and tremelo. It is truly a shame that I have such a lousy amp (Vibro Champ), so I don't get to exploit the guitar's true powers. But I played it trough a '65 twin reverb once... yummy!
This may be abit off track, but once where' talking about the guitar in question; it came to me the other night that I wanted to make this guitar abit more "mine". As I'm am quite pleased with all the hardware etc., I thought doing something with the thick, glossy, ever lasting poly finish. I thought about maybe stripping it down and applying a natural oil, professionally, of course, so the wood will shine through? Is that an acceptable action against a sunburst colour, and not just a simple sonic blue?

I got my Classic Player Strat and have decided for the time being that I will keep the Custom Shop 69's in there. I was surprised at how good they sounded in that particular guitar. I do like the sound of single-coils but for my style of playing they usually are not thick enough. But these Custom Shop 69's sound surprisingly thick to me. Almost like my Dimarzio stacked humbuckers.

I rarely keep stock pickups in my guitars as I have found them to be inadequate but in this particular case I will make an exception.
