Hey everyone, I own the above mentioned and so far I have customized the hell out of it to my own liking. I bought a trem cover or ashtray cover off Ebay for this guitar. The description said for MIM late made Fender Strats. Well I got it in the mail and was excited to put it on and to my disappointment it doesn't fit! In fact it is for a US made Strat and the seller assures me that it is for the Lonestar and other MIM Strats.

Of course after arguing with the guy I just decided to file a claim against him! Now I have my money back and a Trem cover that doesn't fit. DOES Fender make a proper trem cover for the MIM re-issue Lonestar Strat?

IF anyone has one for my guitar I would be willing to trade straight up for the one I have.

Let me know please!

Ian

If the Lonestar has the two-point-pivot tremolo with the offset "block" saddles, I don't think that any ashtray cover will fit on it. The ashtrays only fit the six-point vintage style tremolos, and not even all of them. It might fit if you change the saddles to the "bent" vintage style, but I wouldn't bet on it. The vintage style saddles with offset screws are available from Callaham if you want to try them, $40. I find that the vintage style saddles sound better than those goofy block types, and I've made the change on two Lonestars for friends and they love 'em!

I guess I should have mentioned that this guitar has the vintage style trem. Only the US made Lonestars had the 2 point trem. This cover says on the package for MIM vintage style trems but my trem is a tad wider then the cover.

Oh, well then maybe you could spread the Ashtray just a bit, it might just have been deformed a bit at some point before you got it.

Thanks I will try that! Next is a new heavier brass sustain block, and new chrome metal knobs.

They may be cool for cosmetic purposes but there's a reason they are called "Ashtrays".
They only get in the way of proper palm muting.
