Peter,
I'm very sorry to hear about your "sizzle" problem, whatever that means, and I have come to the only conclusion that could possibly fix this ghost problem of yours: sell the guitar to me. I'll be generous and pay 1/2 of what you payed, a fair price for a "broken" guitar. Please.

The op is back. I played till 7 in the morning last night. I have a brand new Fulltone ocd with a 18 volt power supply that was sitting in my closet that was forgotten. I hooked up the ocd to the twin reverb and this guitar blew my mind. I bonded with the guitar last night and did not want to stop playing. I was floored by all the replies on the thread. I been having lots of anxiety with a bad case of insomnia that has been getting worse. When I came across the suhr site talking about the woods not going together good it really bothered me and I was very upset with myself. That is why I posted on here to my fellow Fender friends for some honest advice. Im so glad I came on here and posted. I read every reply and they put me in a better mood and some cracked me up they were so funny. I dare to say I'm liking my new strat more then my deluxe which has been my number one. A few of you said to swap necks. The maple neck is a deluxe which has a heel so they cannot be switched. After playing all night with my new strat I think Ill keep the necks just where they are even If I could swap them. Thanks for all the replies.... Im going to go jam in a few... If you hear sizzle you know its me jamming... :D

Forget about the construction for a moment. Plug it into your twin reverb, play it vigorously with medium to high volume, and if it brings a smile to your face, it's a keeper. Remember. One man's tone is not necessarily another man's tone. Play on!

Exactly--and for the record I would love to have a Sienna sunburst on an ash body with a rosewood board--just enjoy it.

Glad it all worked out, and as others have mentioned, there are a few knobs on the amp and guitar, use them!

Musicians are always using words to describe sounds and tones. A warm sound. A mellow sound. A bright sound. And the list goes on and on. I would guess sizzle means high end.

Here's the kind of sizzle I don't like: the sizzle of brand new strings. IMO the new strings make a guitar sound too much like a piano. Luckily, that sizzle goes away with a little playing and then I get to the sounds I like best.

Maybe you'll like that guitar of yours even better when it's stings have some of that "brand new brightness" knocked off of them!

Enjoy that guitar PeterGrant ...
