Hey guy's and gals,

Just curious to find out if Fender makes any pickguard for the AM Dlx HSS QMT. I know they make them for the HSS version but my strat has the 2 buttons instead of the 3 that the normal strats have.

some ppl would say that it would be stupid to put a pick guard on this guitar but I am curious to find out if it could be done. I personally like a strat with a pickguard (personal taste) maybe I should have bought a different strat...but I love my guitar other than the fact that it has no pickguard.

Any help would be appreciated...

It is possible, fender don't make em but warmoth should be able to do something for ya easy.

The thing that SHOULDN'T be possible is drilling 8 holes into the top of your guitar to screw in the pickguard.... because if you do that some one will turn up at your door step and slap you in the face whilst saying "why wreck a beautifully finished piece of wood and devalue your guitar somuch"

I can't stress enough how waiting however long it takes to save up for an Am Std Dlx HSS (equiv of what you've got) with a pickguard is a SOOO MUCH better idea than altering what you have.

Also on the serious side the pot shaft lengths, humbucker pickup mounting bracket and a few other things might actually make it difficult to get a pickguard on there.

Yeah I get what your saying. And im not saying that im gonna get it done.
I guess Im just ticked off at another guitar player here in my town that saw me playin at a gig and a few weeks later showed up at a venue with the exact same guitar, case, strap as me argh..... :) I kinda liked being the only guy around here with a strat like this. Ah well I'll suck it up though cause you are right.

I would not have to guts to get it done Just thinking about having to put holes in her makes me kringe...Thanks for the input I will definetly save up and buy another strat and keep this one as is.

Hmm - if you want to make yours more unique you might try to find a small pickguard like those on the Strat-o-Sonic:

or on an Anderson Cobra:

Granted these are two-pickup guitars but you could always cut around the middle pickup. Instead of screwing it down you could maybe attach it with double-face tape so you could remove it later.
