Hey Im new to the forums but I recently missed out on a USA sambora guitar neck that was being sold on ebay and regret it as I really wanted it. DOes anybody know where I can find one for sale that is off a damaged guitar or such? Or does anyone know of a builder who could build one? I tried warmoth but they can't do the star inlays with the black border around each star inlay like the sambora model had.

thanks guys and great forum!

They are gold-dust. I got a couple for my double-neck project off of ebay over the course of the last 8yrs but even then, the last one I bought set me back £400 because, as you said, Warmoth won't build them with the inlays.

Fender CS don't build individual parts either (I tried there too! :D) - only complete instruments and, since Richie left Fender, I've heard they won't even build a replica Sambora strat for customers anymore.

Your best bet is to keep tabs on eBay and be prepared to splash out a lot of cash on one when it does pop up. The guitars themselves are getting increasingly rare now as well so the necks are likely to be even harder to find.

Good luck though. ;)

That article is pretty accurate for my understanding of his current endorsements.

The SA-2 is his most recent signature guitar but it differs significantly quality-wise to the version it is based on that he uses live as you can imagine.

Very true, the guitars that Richie uses were actually custom built for him by his guitar tech Chris Hofschneider of Times Square Guitars.

The cheap ESP Sambora signature model guitars I believe are actually rather poor quality 'copies' of the ones he uses (rather like comparing a Squire to a high end Masterbuilt Custom Shop guitar I would imagine....there would be no comparison!). It is a shame that they do not offer a 'higher end' version for people to choose if they wish, which would more closely follow Sambora's actual guitar.

Russ :)

Well apparently warmoth will do the star inlays but they wont put the black border around the stars. As the guy told me in the email, "it'd be cheaper to have richie play in your back yard"...which I kind of took offense to. I mean the inlays themselves are done by CNC now a days and to add the border around it shouldn't be that hard. But that comment got me put off of warmoth at the moment.

Sambostrat, you wouldntbe willing to part witha neck would you? The one I had my eye on sold for $400 on ebay. Stinks I was beaten within hrs of getting paid.

On another note why is the pm function off on this forum if you dont mind me asking guys? I am new to here so I don't know why it'd be disabled.

Unfortunately not. I'm using both of them I'm afraid:

I always do fairly regular searches on eBay for sambora-related stuff though so, if I spot one, I'll let you know. ;)

Well I came close to snagging a RS Paisley strat and was waiting on the guy to confirm if it was authentic or a replica as some potential buyers must of alerted him to the fact it might be a rep0lica or something....but anyway he was to get back to me and today I got an email the guitar was sold so I am a little livid over how this transaction went down. Sorry for the rant but I am definitely bumbed by this as he had offered it for a good price too!

ANyway does anyone have any leads on just the neck? I really only need the neck and will forever be in your debt!!!

HELP ME =(

I have been looking but nothing's come up that I've seen mate. The only Samboras on eBay just now are a USA version in cherryburst for £1500 and a Black Paisley for over £2000(!!).

It depends how picky you are I suppose but there are always strat copy necks with similar star inlays that come up under searches. I have no idea if they're legit or if they're all that decent but it's an alternative if you are desperately after one.
