Finished! Just a little to do set-up wise but apart from that, it's finally done.

Thanks for all of the help in the wiring department. It was much appreciated and after a little extra help from an electronics engineer my mate knows, it came together quite well in the end.

It's a beauty!

Thanks for the update.

Any chance you can get it weighed and let us know the "damage"??

15.4lbs...

I don't even want to know what it weighs when it's in its flightcase!

Wow, that's almost 3 lbs more than my doubleneck Strat (12.55 lbs).

I figured all of that extra metal in the Floyd would be heavy, but not that much.

My body is just alder, no heavy (but beee-utiful) flamy maple top.

I have a swamp ash body but the scales I used can be a little temperamental sometimes. It indicated 7kg on the dot pretty much which is 15.4lbs but I may give it a re-weigh just to make sure as it did seem heavy to me as well given that most people's doublenecks measure about 12-14lbs. :)

Man Sambo that is one beautifulllllllllll custom!!

If you don't mind me asking, would you mind posting the break down cost for each part and the total of the whole custom? I am interested in doing my own custom and want to see the *approx* costs before actually going through with it.

thanks!! OH and enjoy that baby!!!

Thanks man. The costs are pretty much from memory as most were collected over the 8 year period leading up to it's completion but here goes:

The body: Warmoth custom flametop - £900 (incl. postage and customs)

The necks: Fender USA Samboras - £350 and £400

Tuners: Fender USA - £50 each set

Bridges: Original Floyd Rose w/locking nut - £150, Fender USA hardtail - £80

Scratchplate: Warmoth tortoiseshell - £40

Rear cavity cover: Tortoiseshell - £15

Nut: Ebanol replacement nut for Floyd Rose - £30

Pots: Two Fender TBX tone controls - £12 each, DiMarzio volume £6

Pickups: DiMarzio PAF Pro - £60 each, set of Fender '57/'62s - £90, one Sambora Special (spare from my Black Paisley)

Other misc. electronics (switches, wiring, etc.) - £30

Other misc. hardware (screws, ferrules, neck plates, etc.) - £35

Control Knobs: Metal custom - £15 set

Strap buttons: Fender - £10

Strings - £20

Strap: Levy MSS1 (padded) - £45

Flightcase: Custom - £160

All prices are very much only approximations. Total is about £2600.

The things that really bumped the price are the necks and the flame top which probably added about £600 more to the build than if I'd just opted for standard parts/finishes. :)
