Hi to all, I'm a newbie here. Was Honey Blonde (transparent) color offered for a 2002 American Standard strat? I'm about to trade for one and don't know much about them. What should I look for to keep from getting ripped off?

Well, I went ahead and made the trade. It's a beautiful guitar, transparent finish with a maple neck, black pickguard and pickups. Serial number Z10165XX. Looks brand new (was a case queen) and plays like a dream. Blows away my mexi strat (but that one's fun too with the David Gilmoure loaded pickguard). What I think I've found out was that the American Standard was discontinued in 2000 and that this one is an American Series. Anyway, I'm happy with it.

The American Standards weren't discontinued but suspended. They came back with significant improvements and features in 2008.
