Okay, I admit it. I have had a love affair with black Stratocasters ever since I saw Jimi Hendrix toting one when I was a kid. Eric Clapton and David Gilmour are fans too, so I'm in good company. So without further ado, here are a couple of outdoor pics of my black Strats.

From left to right in both pics: original '65, '05 Custom Shop '56 NOS, '05 Clapton Artist Series and '07 VG.

From vintage to ultra modern, I'm covered with black. :)

Thanks for helping me make up my mind.I think that when I get my 65 (that someone butchered "restoring" in 75)refinished I'll paint her black. Your Strats are certainly Black Beauties.

Thanks, Tanner. You're building a nice guitar collection, too. Love that Surf Green Tele and I'm also a fan of Tobacco Sunburst American Deluxe Ash Strats. I have one exactly like yours.

Thanks. I do love other Strat colors. Surf Green, Olympic White, Sonic and Daphne Blue, 2 and 3 Tone Sunbursts but Black still does it for me. It's an addiction I like. :)

I love that '65. It turns 45 in November and it still sounds and plays great. It's my favorite guitar.

Thanks, man. The finish on that old Strat still looks good after it has spent almost 45 years in Arizona's dry desert climate. There is some checking on the back and a few dings and chips but there is still plenty of shine left. Black Strats with rosewood fretboards still make me smile. :)

Up until I purchased my Lonestar Strat in Artic white, I've had nothing but black guitars.... Aria Pro II all black, Ibanez Performance Acoustic in Black, Epiphone LP Black, Gibson LP Black; for some reason my strat had to be different. Not that a black strat didn't cross my mind... It still does!!!
