Yeah anything is possible for sure. There is nothing to stop someone putting a 60th neck on any body. Are you talking the small zircon diamond on the front of the headstock or just the silver metal logo on the back which is on every 60th strat.
It is a bit like the 50th logo on every strat in 2004 but there were only two USA 50th Anniversary strats (also one mexi and I think one custom shop)
You could always confirm authenticity by running the serial past fender but I'm fairly sure the two models discussed are the only ones officially listed. It should also have the case discussed but this too can be purchased and added just to confuse us fender fans further :D

I was told by an administrator on the forum that they can't tell you anything from a Guitars Serial #. It must be tough keeping the record straight on millions of guitars .

I know this is off topic... Hey again anything is possible. I did contact Jeff giving him a description of a sixtieth and a Z6 serial and he did tell me it that it did not fit. Maybe it was just the description on which he made the decision but I thought it was the serial.
My question to you Alfonse is do the guitars you have spoken about have the false zircon jewel in the headstock or just the metal logo on the back. Also do they have the anniversary neck plate and the silver case. If you can produce the evidence them I am quite happy to admit I am wrong! How about a link to the one you saw online in a Florida shop for a start this would solve this once and for all
Here is a link to two I have had in my possesion if you look carefully you will see the false diamond at the top of the headstock

Hope all this helps

Hey all...being a new member and all I hate to critique on my very first post buuut...60th anniversary of what. The stratocaster came out in 1954 which would make 2014 the 60th anniversary year. As for YOUR butterscotch just as beautiful as mine...enjoy

That would be the 60th Anniversary of the founding of the Fender Company by Leo back in 1946; Fender put a small decal on the back of the headstock to commemorate the year on most models (those special editions had the little diamond chip on the front of the headstock). They did the same thing in 1996 for the 50th Anniversary of the company by putting an oval gold sticker on the back of the headstocks (plus had a special edition model to commemorate the year).

I know it's an old topic, but I love butterscotch, and this funny link came up in a search.

They are the "Fende" Guitar company in China and they'll make whatever you want.

That's a lazy answer from someone who didn't want to bother doing any work. I bought a used MIM strat a few years ago, had no idea what it was. Email customer service and got back the spec's of the guitar.

1996 Tex-Mex Strat which was the year prior to the Jimmy Vaughn strat. Basically the same guitar except for the neck profile. Guitar ended up being worth more than I paid for it.

4hayden that is a nice guitar but again not a 60th. If you read the earlier posts you will see why. Nearly every guitar in 2006 came with a little metal badge on the back of the headstock but the true anniversary has many other features. The case is a 60th but the guitar looks like an aged cherry. If it were a true anni it would have the false jewel on the front of the headstock and a neck plate saying 60th.
