please forgive me if this is a common issue that i should already know, but i have a 2006 american strat and bought a bronze moto fender pickguard for it. the holes matched up decent enough to where i could at least see the holes in the wood through the pickguard pre-drilled holes. the new pickguard was also bowed some (which i hear is normal for new pickguards). once i slowly tightened down each screw little by little until they were all snug, now the bow has reversed just alittle on the edges of each side of the center pickup (the outside edges of the pickguard near the center pickup). now, i must admit, i am very picky about my guitars and the bow i now have on the installed pickguard is minimal (about 1/16th" in a couple of places) but i would like to have a flat setting pickguard IF possible (my original white pickguard is completely flat setting?). will this thing flatten out as it ages, or did i get a warped one? any suggestions? (i may be acting too picky and should just suck it up, but just incase there are any ideas out there, i wanted to post this). thanks for reading my post and thanks in advance for any ideas.

I don't think you're being picky at all. Since it's warped can't you return it?

i called fender, and they said that all pickguards they sell are bent like that in some way. they even said that when installed, they should straighten out, but some still have alittle warp to them even after installed. but they said to go ahead and send it in for a new one, but it will probably be replaced with one like it since "none of theirs are completely flat". but this thing is really warped. like, -it will hold water if it werent for the pickup holes- warped. (crazy, huh). oh well, i will send it in and see what happens.
