You used to be able to tell if a body was nitro, or if the neck was satin, etc. When did this new drop down tab with less info come about?

Does anyone know if the 57 vintage reissue is nitro body and neck???

Right - seems that they've add what size hex wrench you need to adjust the truss rod and have omissions from the old.

Hi campfirehero: the American Vintage '57 is nitro on the body and neck, yes.

...At least it was last time the finish was listed on the spec sheet, not very long ago. You're right, that info is suddenly missing, isn't? Odd: I wonder why. Must have been a lot of work to rewrite all those spec sheets to make them less informative.

If that change is for keeps it's going to lead to A LOT more threads here asking for finish information...

Cheers - C

This has been a trend I started noticing several years ago. The nature of the information provided seems geared toward the novice buyer more and more each year.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.
