Hey everybody, I'm new here! Just wanted to ask a quick question regarding my MIJ Fender Strat.

It has the System 1 trem and locking nut, however when I run my new strings through the nut and tighten it, a string will end up being cut. It's happened on the high E and D string so far...just odd. Does anyone have any suggestions? Right now I'm using the tuning keys without any trem action.

What size strings?

I've tried packs of 9s and 10s so far. At least one string out of the six will break. I'm not over tightening or anything, just firmly locking it down.

Is there another solution to using the locking nut? Throwing on locking tuners and bypassing the nut completely?
