Yes, surprisingly good. I ran it clean through my Super Champ and was really surprised how it sounded. Standard MIM pups as I could not find anything to say they were different. Salesguy at GC had no idea.

My '08 MIM sounded muddy in comparison. The quality just keeps getting better. I'll have to do a set up on it when I restring it with 10's, but its not bad.

If you have one of both, sorry but I HATE YOU, Just kiddin, i hate me for having to finish my house first. Did an addition and need to finish it before
the wife lets me buy anymore gear. Sucks to be me, but my AVHR 57 will have to do for now.

LOL... no worries. I almost didn't post the DG out of respect. And I hear ya... I have to finish upgrades at home but I saw that special run and well... you know.

Kinda like the difference between a real AC Cobra and a kit car. Of course, they were careful not to use an all black pickguard on the FSR and tint the neck differently.
Saw one hanging down low on the wall at a GC recently. The real deal enjoys a different place of honor....usually in a locked glass case in the Platinum Room. Personally, I'd rather drop a DG-20 into a red AVRI or even an MIM or go after-market. I've seen a website out there for a company which builds the black Gilmour pickguard, or offers the parts to do so. It might have been posted on the Forum. Sorry I can't be of more help than that.

No surprises there. Any one of us on the Forum could sell Fender and educate the buyer  . That's not their gig :?

......I just looked at it, smiled and walked away. Went home and took the real deal for a spin. I'm waiting on a '57AVHR too. That'll be a sunburst. Not a candidate for a black pickguard.

I scored one! :D and I love it! especially the laquered neck...wish I had saved my ad though since I didn't get any documentation and it was the only description of the guitar that I had. If anybody has a copy of that ad and would like to give it up, please PM me.

GC must have some of these left. They are in the August flyer. It's not a DG sig, but then it's not $4K either! I am not affiliated with GC. Just a proud owner of one of these guitars. It's a beauty and I love mine! 8)

It's listed in the August flyer - page 13.

There really is no comparison back to back on pickups. The DG is an outstanding sounding guitar. That said, I'm pleased with the new one.

Anybody else have a review on the MIM Strat? My GC has one in stock but it's an hour away so I'd like to know more before making the drive.
