I'll try that. Lost my whole set of keys the other day. I'm pretty sure they went to the landfill. Lost my only safe key too. At least I didn't have my case locked and the key wasn't in the safe.

Well for instance. When I go out of town without my guitar and I have curious folk in my house, I lock my case. I could be at a gig and will lock the case. While travelling with my guitar on an airplane, I will lock the case. Makes sense to me.

Yeah, my first instinct was maybe Fender had keys. That's why I asked here first. Locksmith or SKB is probably the way to go.

Since the keys are sheet metal, you might find another similar key and carefully trace it and file the new key. It shouldn't be too hard.

while I haven't had the need to get another copy of my guitar case key, I have had the need to cut a copy of the little key that came with my fireproof safebox, which is relatively the same size and same type of key. The guy at Home Depot said he couldn't cut it, and that if I wanted another copy I'd have to ask the company.

I don't think I've ever locked a case, even the ones that had combo locks on them (I never bothered to reset the combo). I figured if someone wanted to steal the guitar bad enough, they were just going to take it, case and all. That said, the locks on skb's are pretty easy to pick, I've done it with a paper clip in the past for customers who've lost their keys.
