I'm sorry you feel that way.

I'm not a big fan of Aztec Gold or Shoreline Gold but my Firemist Gold hartail turned out pretty sweet......

I like it when it's new but I don't like the way it ages. The gold finish rubs off after a few years and the nickle underneath shows through. What once looked classy later looks cheap and cheesy. It's just awfull.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

This is a photo of an '88 Strat Plus I swiped off another forum, but the color is Razzberry. A shade of magenta much more common to the HM Strat. I got mine dirt cheap because nobody liked the color.

Antigua maybe, thats pretty hideous in my opinion. I'm just waiting for someone to put a mother of toiletseat pickguard on a anigua strat. Then I will know that all taste has left the species and that devolution is a fact.

thanks nik, now i am developing a complex with 3t sb.

I love 'em all. In fact, I'd love to have that pink paisley Strat.

I confess I don't like gold hardware. But that's why they have so many options--something for everyone! 8)

Who is the mystery man? Looking at the shirt and trousers - it's the Archbishop of Canterbury. Obviously.

Oh, and that guy? My cousin, scottishracehorse.

One person's like is another's dislike. Let's just say I will not buy anything I feel is ugly; therefore, I do not own an ugly guitar. Of course this is my opinion and in the end, mine is the opinion that matters when it comes to my guitars. :)

Ceri hit this post on the head with what he said on page one!

Personally I like an Antigua Strat, Will anyone deny that James Burton does not look like the man with his Pink Paisley Tele, and Joe Perry has a killer Gold Sparkle Strat.

I also do not like Sherwood Green.lol

I don't like that purple color on some that I've seen,I don't even know what to call it...but the Antigua is ugly to me as well.
And Sherwood Green is my favorite...and somebody else said they didn't like it.
It's a matter of personal appreciation...that's why there's all those colors out there.

The quintessential American opinion.

I like that.

Rawk on!

Not a Strat, but pretty bad. http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Dean-Custom-Zone-Electric-Guitar?sku=511932

As far as Strats go I always thought that that 50's beige color was boring. Not bad, not ugly, just boring.

nah sorry I just cant accept puke fading out to snot colouring. I also think all tortoise shell pick guards should go to room 101. Black only just stays out, cos it looks right on the Gilmour.

I fail to see how that is a nod to anything other than saturday night pavement decoration.

I personally think it depends on what the band, music, or genre is when it comes to certain guitars that look like this. If I was in a band that was playing retro surf music, and the band generally dressed and looked as such, then I think this would be a cool color to have. If all of the sudden I saw Kirk Hammett or Janick Gers or someone in a Heavy Metal band sporting it. I would say.. Yea, not looking good.

Guitars like the Hot Pink (body and neck one).. Asian Girl Pop band maybe, and it can fit the look of the band's persona pretty easily. Certainly not for me, but I could see it working for another situation.

The Hello Kitty thing.. I think it's pretty obvious where the market is for that. Unless you're in a band that has a comical feel to it, and you're making a joke of it. I did see one played live before by a Punk guitar player who had altered the graphic to be a pretty morbid scene.

I have never liked gold-top Les Pauls. I am a long-time Gibson Les Paul guy ... but yuck. Funny, but I love the Shoreline gold on my Tele, though ... alot, actually.

Woohoo I like these threads!!

My dislikes:
All shades of white. even metallics.
Antigua.
Sunset Metallic burst is hideous and does not fit with any other colours in the range. I think it needs to be in a theme of 3 or so similar metallic bursts. Its still hideous tho.
Blue Flower.

What I think they should bring back:
Taos Turqoise. Infact, all turqoise colours.
silverburst, blueburst and most 90's era colours.
Custom 60's colours.

I dont mind 3 tone sunburst- but I like the subtle fade out. not too much red. Thats how they're meant to be I reckon.

I actually like paisley too. Black Paisley (CIJ Ltd Ed Sambora strat) looks wicked. I think everyone owes it to themselves to see a paisley in the flesh- you cant judge it properly till you do :)

The bright greens and blues of the late 80's and 90's need to come back. The current deluxe line has the colour pallette of a plank of 4x2 in my opinion.

+1. the antigua burst is one of the most terrible finishes I've ever seen on a guitar. I also second the vote for sherwood green.
