If you haven't seen it check out this guys Strat and his playing...
(which are both quite good in my opinion)

As for the guitar (called Sandra) TurquoiseArmies writes:

"It's a Squier Classic Vibe 60s model that cost me around 250 dollars. Updated parts (electronics, hardware) and bought paint, all together about another 250, and then just reliced the thing myself"

"Van Zandt Vintage+ in the neck and middle, Lollar Strat Special in the bridge. CTS pots, steel tremolo block, etc"

Recorded with Line 6 Pod XT Live

Proof that you do not need expensive gear to sound good..... He doesn't even use an amp. That is a Pod XT.

Its been said many, many times. The tone is all in the hands. I'd be willing to be SRV, Clapton, Hendrix, or any other fellow out there could make a Squire Bullet strat sound awesome... Case in point, a few years ago, Volkswagon was selling a car that came with a First Act guitar that Slash played through the car stereo. He totally rocked it and First Act is about as cheap quality as you can get!
