Your only other option as far as I know is to buy a guitar.

Only three ways, Ebay, Craigslist, or buy the whole guitar from a shop. Last option is the best way to ensure you have the genuine article. However, $300 is cheap! If you're paying less then $600 for the neck, I'd be really careful about it....

Like Nick says, you're not in luck.

Even on Ebay it ain't easy, our side of the pond. Far as I'm aware there's nobody here parting out real Fenders on a regular basis like one or two people are doing in America. And many of the necks I see on Ebay are obvious fakes. Some others are less obvious. And some others - I just don't know, but would be leary of parting with money.

Guess you could always part out a real Fender yourself and make a nice profit on the body and other bits?

Cheers - C

You haven't said why you are looking for a neck. If you have broken your neck you may have the option to return it to Fender and they will issue you a new genuine neck. This has been done in the past under certain circumstances.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Warmoth makes a really nice replacement neck.

I seem to recall Fender used to sell replacement necks and bodies, but htey may have stopped doing it.

Sorry - I know this sounds crazy but I wanted to change the colour of mine. It currently has a rosewood fingerboard and I would like a maple one (black strat ;) ). My current rosewood one is on fleabay at the moment so we'll see what it goes for :)

No no - withdraw that sale quick! :o

What you do is buy a Strat from the same place in the catalog but with a maple neck. You swap the necks out and then you sell the rosewood necked guitar on Evilbay.

You will take a small loss on the deal - and that's the price of your guitar's elective surgery. :D

On Ebay, I have found a reliable parts dealer, Reliablefender is the screen name. Dude has parted out just about every type of strat there is. MIM/MIJ/MIA/Deluxe/CS...

Wrong side of the Atlantic, though. Postage and import duty makes it a very expensive way to go - which is why the OP put the "not Ebay" clause in at the top.

BTW: just in case an alternative option is interesting...

mark.carline, I do know of places to get a neck custom built in our country for substantially less than you will pay for a used Fender one on Ebay, even if you can find one you like and believe genuine. If interested - ask.

Cheers - C
