I can't believe I just spent couple of hours taking pics of guitars! :)

This guitar is beautiful, love the way it plays, but I have a feeling the pups will have to go! First there's some nasty static, on top of the usual hum, gonna take it back to see if something is wrong, maybe it's not grounded properly... plus they sound a bit "soft" for my taste. I love the neck on this thing! Even if its a bit sticky..

Why? Cuz I can :) no seriously, I wasn't planning on changing anything, it sounded great in the store, but when I started playing it at home it didn't really do it for me, maybe I've been spoiled by the Fralins too much... gonna take care of the static first and go from there. It might actually be a good idea to leave it as is so I can have some versatility with my Strats... it seems that lately I only want that SRV tone and nothing else will do, I'm sure it'll wear off soon :)

I cannot see how those pickups would sound "soft".. I think they are hotter than the maple EJ pickups.

That was my understanding and that was the reason I liked them when I heard them in the store. I don't know why bringing the thing home changed everything! And I don't remember hearing the static either, could something gone wrong with the wiring?? I played thru the same exact amp the first time I heard the guitar, that amp (DRRI) came home with me first, I was swapping amps, then I went back and got the guitar and it sounds nothing like it did a week ago! :(
