That's totally up to you.

Personally my guitars are either hanging on the wall or on stands.

Thanks CA - I am still a newby and was concerned about the heat / air that runs in the house all the time. I'll take your word on it and just leave them out.

As far as temps go, if you are comfortable your guitar is comfortable.

I follow this train of thought as well... I don't even like to leave my guitars anywhere near a warm or cool draft.

I live in a very humid (and salty) area so, I have to keep my guitars in the cases to keep the strings from prematurely rusting. I would have to change strings about every two weeks if I didn't (I don't play as much and left them out before). I have even seen quality stainless steel knives rust here.

All of my guitars are spoiled rotten tucked in their cases when not in use for more than 24 hrs. I also have a big dog and a five year old to protect them from. Preventable accidents make for bad day.

I don't know this first hand but I've heard/read that it is not good to keep a nitro finished guitar on a stand. They can react with the finish. I keep my MIM Strat on a stand for easy access. I keep my nitro Gibson under the bed in the case and it never gets played :( .

If your guitar is a daily player there's no harm in leaving it on a stand as long as pets and/on careless people can't readily tip it over, however if you go long periods without using it it's better to put it in a case in a room with constant temperature and proper humidity.

I have heard this as well... unfortunately, I don't have a nitro strat.

Other than dust or direct sunlight, it will be fine! I keep mine on its stand most of the time. Its a thing of beauty! Show it off!

I "try" to keep the house climate controlled but am finding the humidity demons have attacked me. I'm getting a wee little bit of fret buzz up through the 5th fret that I never had before. :( I don't want my PowerHouse to sound like a sitar.

I'm not quite sure where to begin on it so it's going to a tech as soon as I can pony up enough cash to keep peace with my still-working wife.

Since I have a mexi strat covered in poly, it doesn't breathe like nitro finished guitars. Therefore, it won't be affected by humidty like an acoustic guitar that has no finish on the inside of the guitar...
