This can be done on any guitar, but the VG Stratocaster is ideally-suited for it.

Recently at a stage production of Gilbert & Sullivan's "Yeomen Of The Guard," one song really stuck, a love ballad, "I Have A Song To Sing-O" EDIT: NOT REPEAT NOT ) "Sing Me A Song-O."

Peter, Paul and Mary did a magnificent live in Australia 1970 version of this and it was nuts-beautiful. Real easy to e-look up and listen for free.

So, as a melody-line guitarist, the varied voices and repeating phrasing in the song seemed like a natural for the VG. Begin with open G3 in 1st position, opening with G3 and go to G4.

Answer some verses from G2 on the 6th, then some midrange on phrases on 4th and 5th strings.

Then for some delightful variations in voicing, get on the knobs, do some "call and response" using the auoustic, 12-string and baritone voices.

This is a new strong personal fave for the repertoire, "definitely something complletely different."

That's Jack Point's lament isn't it . It also closes the operetta, if I'm not mistaken.
I own FSR Deluxe VG. The guitar is full of tricks if one has the time to experiment. I wonder if there's something new in their R&D which will replace it :?:

The member of Doyle-Carte who made that his song, and many others, was an artist named Martyn Green. Green, who could knock out a G&S patter song, with a rapid little dance, without losing a breath. suffered a tragic irony in the loss one of those legs in an elevator accident in the late 50's, I believe. I suggest you research him and learn more about this marvelously talented man.
Doc.

That's what it's all about. However, give a look at Martyn Green. Haven't tried YouTube yet, but shall.
