Hi all. New to forum and new to fender. I recently purchased a US made standard strat. This is the nicest guitar I've ever owned. The dealer said it is a '96, but my research has turned up dates from '96 to '99. Any advice on pinpointing the year would be appreciated.
The S.N. Is N8368525
Thanks
Y.M.

To pinpoint a specific date, you would need to remove the neck and check in the heel pocket. Go with the most recent date and thats the year.

Congrats on your purchase and welcome to the forum!

Welcome to the forum!! Just going by the serial number only it seems you have a 98-99 model. Enjoy! :)

You can check it yourself at www.guitardaterproject.org

Of course we could help you determine exactly what you have if you could post pictures for examination.

1+ on that. There is a serial number support tab on this website if you look under Support - Product Dating. Now I have heard that Fender is very prompt if you call them and ask....

Hi and welcome michael, the serial number indicates the year of the manufacture of the guitar. N stands for nine, and followed by an eight means 1998. Don't forget that the guitar doesn't exists until we see pics of it.
See ya around. :)

If you call fender, they can tell you down to the month that it was made. Very quick and easy.
