Hi guys,

I am new to this forum so go easy on me if I am asking questions that have been asked before :D

Among my guitars I have a 1979 strat (sunburst with maple neck - I know its CBS but the thing nearly plays itself, I love it), I have a 1985 tele that I installed noiseless pickups in, its black with a maple neck and I have a 62 re-issue strat.

My problem (not a biggy) is with the neck profile of the 62 reissue. With low action some bends over the 12th fret choke due to the slight curve of the fretboard.

Is there something I am doing wrong in my set up or do I just live with it? If anyone can provide any help here I would greatly appreciate it.

Many thanks.

If everything is right with the neck...straight,frets even etc.,you might just have to raise your action a little till the bends don't choke, usually it doesn't take much. It's not that uncommon.

Welcome to the Forum.

The fretboard radius is probably 7.25. At that radius with a low action string bending at or above the 12th fret is going to choke.

You can raise the action which will help or adjust how you play by using a lighter touch when bending.

if the curve goes from the high e to the Low E, you'll need to adjust your saddles. If the curve is from one fret to the other, either your truss rod needs to be adjusted or your frets leveled...
