hello, i'm a italian boys and i love fender guitar. you can see my guitar at my site www.massipage.it
my question is this: what material use the builder to the clay dot in strato end tele guitar at '60 ? the custom shop time machine model have the same dot, but i want know the materials used by fender for this dot in the rosewood keyboards... in the web i don' t find this information.... you can help me? thanks and excuse my bad english

Your writing is perfectly fine. Honestly, if they say their made from clay, then there must be something out there about clay dots. An sucessful Strat rebuilder on here has recently finished a strat that has used a plastic colored molded acrylic. Look for a thread called "Nijinika's body" or something like that.

I've wondered this myself.

I found a web site online that explains everything about, "Clay" dots. They aren't really made of clay. It's some sort of filler puddy, but I'm not very knowledgable on the subject.

Go to, "Ask Mike Eldred" on the forum. He would probibly know the answer to your question.
