Hello and Welcome!

The delta tone is a pot with the last part of the carbon trace missing so when you turn the pot to ten is cuts out of the circuit. The pot is notched at ten so you know when its out.

Hope this helps

Andy

Also if you dismantle the pot and coat the last 3mm of the carbon trace with clear nail varnish, that acheives the same thing.

Personaly I dont like the control. It just doesnt sound like a strat bridge wired without a tone control. And it mucks up the bridge/mid setting.

If your looking to buy rather than mod, it's a 'No Load Tone Pot' you need to look for.

Hi Stratele52

I'd recommend trying out Nik's pot mod (if you have a spare pot) first as the notch on the no-load pot can be a bit stiff. If you like to adjust on the fly they can be a bit of a pain. Their great for blend pot mods though :D

What is the Nik's pot mod Andybighais ?

Is it the mod that you cut the "resistor" in the pot ( make a small open circuit at one end) ?

And yes, I have lot of spare pots

1+ on that. I think it will be my next and possibly the final mod I'll ever make on my strat....

Now that's a cool trick - I worked for Heathkit for 11 years and though I had most of the tricks down... never heard that one before!

Strataholic you work for heatkit ?

I built lots of stuff from Heatkit in 1970. VTVM (Tubes), scope ( tubes), capcitor checker (tubes), Hifi stereo amps ( transistors) Digital alarm clock. Metronome and many.
And most of them I have it , and are in working condition. I have some catalogs too.

Yes, I managed one of the top store for Veritechnology. his was one of the funnest times of my life - I had a beautiful new mansion/house in Baltimore, MD, made a ton of $$$, had beautiful new boy girl twins, had a cool power trio called Yamazamma, blah, blah, blah...

I wish I had spent more time and resources on myself and not so much on my employees.. like Novell Certs and training courses, etc.

I think I must have built hundreds of kits and loved every bit of it. I think the Hero I robot was the biggest and had about 18-20 indepentend circuit boards!!!!!! When I first fired it up it was supposed to say "ready"... mine said "shra shar shready" - was a bear to troubleshoot!
