I have been thinking of changing the pickups in my Standard Strat. I play blues, country and classic rock. I am thinking of gettting this:
http://pickersparts.auctivacommerce.com ... 89913.aspx

I have not been able to get an idea from the website exactly what is meant by 14 way switching (7 with coil tap)

Is anyone else using this pickup combo? Could someone point me in the right direction as to the switching and what exactly the TBX will do?

Wow, that seems like a really cool setup! The TBX is a more reactive tone control. There is an notch in the middle (when the tone control is set to 5) that is essentially the sound of a "regular" tone control set on full (to 10). Turning it in either direction adds either more brilliance or more bass.

As for the pu configuration, I'm doing something similar on a project strat I'm working on, minus the rail pu in the middle. Instead of a three way toggle, I'm using a push-pull pot for the volume knob. My pu choices are an SD Hot Rails (n), Lace Sensor Red (m), and a DiMarzio Fast Track (b) all in black on a black strat w/a rosewood board.

The SD Hot Rails are humbuckers the size of single coils. The guitar must have the ability to tap each coil, play all the pickkups at once, and then toss in the TBX control (highly unnecessary with humbuckers, as Clapton asked for it to give his single coils a humbucker tone)...
