When I bought my Strat in 1990,l the dealer told me that either it was the first or last year of the American Standard - I not sure which, it was 22 years ago. I still have it , it's still my main axe, and the color is Gun Metal Blue. I've never seen any other Fender in this color and I'm told it is now discontinued. Anybody ever see one like it? Thanks!

I've seen the Plus model in that color. Seen a body from about that time on ebay once too. I like that color.

A few Japanese-made Eric Clapton-style ST-54LSes were available in Gun Metal Blue. Why not asking Xhefri about that guitar?

Let's see some good pics on that monster! 88 was a great year for Fender. Its almost like having a custom shop because back then there were only a few guys making Fender Strats...
