Is there anything I should know or look for in this guitar. I'm new to buying strats.. or any guitar as far as that goes.
Thanks,

Basically the same for other guitars. Look from the bridge to the headstock and make sure that it does not twist to the left or right. Make sure that there is little to no buzzing up and down the fretboard as you are playing. Make sure the nobs and switches work, for both hwy1 and AS, the middle pickup is not connected to either tone nob. I usually play through a similar amp to what I own to ensure I get the tones I want. Gently shake the guitar to ensure there is no rattling.

Play several in each model(s) you are wanting. I agree with an earlier post, the Hwy 1 is better suited for high gain-music like Metal.

I hope this helps out, let your ears and fingers guide you. Good luck and keep us posted on what you get.

Welcome to the Forum Uponashelf,I also have a '00 MIM Strat-mine's a lefty strung right handed for the Hendrix vibe and sound-and I wouldn't change a thing about it.Don't fall for the old"Throw out the Pups and put in EMGs,Duncan's.) etc. line, the stock pups are quite adequate.
