This is a picture of a 57 reissue Strat I recently aquired. I was wondering if any of you who have had this strat for a while have noticed how it ages throught the time that you have had it (finish, etc.). I used to have a vintage 62 Jag, but it was stolen recently, so I really didnt get to see how it would fare through the first few years (fourtunatley, I have a new one coming to me).

Sorry the image is not embedded. the way the site is made where the picture is hosted wouldn't allow me to do it.

Nice strat! 8)

As for the aging, it really depends on the body chemistry of that particular person. My guitars tend to age at a quicker rate due to a higher ph level in my sweat. Some people like their guitars to stay pristine, I like the "aged" look.

The finish on the Am Vintage 57 is actually pretty resilient in my experience. I'm pretty sure it has a thin undercoating of urethane so it doesn't wear as quick as the hot rod finish or other thinskins. It has a nice, gradual aging process (Unless you're rough on guitars). Mine's is a white blonde that's about 3 years old now and still looks new, yet sounds old. Just the way I like it ^^
