Eddie - my first step was to return the guitar to the stock configuration, so I clipped off the solder joint between positions 1 and 2 on on Pole 2 as well as the jumper wire between positions 4 and 5 (also on Pole 2).

The end result is close, but not quite correct. The Tone controls appear to work as they should except when the pickup selector is in the bridge position. In that position, Tone 2 should control the bridge pickup, but it now has no affect at all.

Any suggestions as to what I might look for that could be causing Tone 2 not to work on the bridge pickup?
