Damn. I had originally dismissed the Road worn series for various reasons, but looking at it again, it's a nice looking strat. I'm a sucker for white strats w/rosewood (think Jeff Beck). Meanwhile, I bought a CP 60s in 3 tone burst four months ago. Do I really need another high-end MiM strat?

The roadworn is really a great guitar. People dismiss it by how it looks, but it plays like a dream and it sounds great. The stock tex mex pickups really compliments the roadworn, no need to change the pickups IMHO. I got lucky with this strat, paid only $499 for it when MF had "Fender Friday Deal" last year. I ended up getting both the vintage white and the three tone sunburst. Got two for the price of one :D

I would say that Blues play sounded better with the Gibson LP Standard followed by the Schecter Tempest Custom the other Schecter ( C-1) did little to stand out and the Strat stood out but not in a good way that it was better then the LP or the Tempest.
Now these opinions go for this song.

Well, too me of all the guitars he played, because his sound is so over processed they all sound the same for the most part.

at first, i figured this was gonna be another of those tired posts about
"which one is better, a strat or a paul".
man the apple and oranges posts kill me.
so i figured what the hey, i'll view and see what everyone is saying lol.
man i gotta agree with jeff on this.
each guitar is so over processed you cant hear the guitars natural voice.
for blues, i want my guitar to sing as natural as possible.
i might boost it here or there but i want to hear the material
my guitar is made of. let it sing ya know.
now when metal was my choice, yeah i had everything processed.
to me, blues is a relaxing, mellow type flavor.
i want things as clean as can be for the most part.
yeah i have a fuzz or a wah here and there for some things, but
i want to hear a natural tone if possible.
this guy needs to back off a bit.
i will say that when the 60's road was playing it standed out in my opinion, but really lacked a strat tone in my book.

I can't stand his tone and I would never consider him a Blues guy, he's more of a Rock dude if u ask me...

If ur looking for a bucker type Blues tone, here's a few...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-sMWTqUuSh4

and of course one of the best Blues tone

And for Strat Blues tone, nobody did it better than this man!

I kinda agree with most, way too processed, but the Strat did sound better IMO. Nice playing, just clean it up a bit.

Although the sound of the Strat was unmistakeable the signal was too over driven and distorted to show the true nature of each guitars tone. The comparison would have been a lot better if he had just used the natural overdrive of the Marshall. I see a lot of guitar players these days putting their signal through so many effects that the personality of the guitar is completely lost and they might as well be playing a $199.99 Walmart Special rather than a $3,000 PRS.I can't see spending big bucks on a guitar if you're going to run it through a large chain of effects all the time.

im so not a fan of that video. i just didnt see him playing with much feeling. im not really a gary moore fan anyways.
i didnt care for his bucker tone at all.
the collins video below is a very sweet bucker tone.
BB king was also provided. i dont think BB's tone
should be included here on this as he is using a hollow body
guitar. they have a tone you just cant come close to unless your using one yourself.

i have to agree. why buy a super expensive guitar, known for its tone, made out of the nicest woods, if all your gonna do is muddy the heck out of it all the time?
i mean its ok to have effects and run them. i love my effects and use them often. just dont use all of them all the time so much that your guitar can sing on it own.
i do like stevies tone.
another persons tone im in love with is ana popovic's tone.
OMG can she play! her tone is crazy sweet.
her tone just melts in your mouth. youtube her.

You are the one who seem to see the "whole" picture". The backing track is more fast pace, very blues fusion type and I think the tone fitted the song IMHO.

On the other hand, this tone fitted the backing track IMHO.
