Hi Al 87. Nice pics (nice pond!): thank you.

Good soldering - are you going to tell us more about how you found it putting those pedals together, please? And how they sound?

Regarding the guitar; is that the ST58-TX? May I be so nosy as to enquire where you got it - Japanese Guitar Emporium, by any chance? I'd be fascinated to know how the ordering process worked for you. I spent about a year trying to get a Fiesta CIJ '57 from that gentleman, amongst others. Charlie Chandler finally got it for me, but it was a long saga...

Anyway: beautiful Strat. Congrats!

A CIJ Fender is one guitar you can buy sight unseen...

8) - C

PS Looking again - can't seem to get my eye in. How many pieces is that body, please? Can't find the joins...

Thanks guys it does seem to be a nicely screwed together piece.

Talking of pieces the body is 3 piece alder, the join is offset rather than 3 equal sizes.

The story basically was that i wanted a 57 reissue or similar and after looking on e bay etc i decided to try supplier sites.

Found by chance that puppy was on www.fareastguitars.co.uk site (not far from yourself i think) and if you have a look its probably still on his pics board.

Its not new according to the seller about 4/ 5 years old. Its almost unmarked, truly a gem condition wise. Shown as a ST58 have to check the tag as to the TX assume so. I have a Japanese only booklet as its a non export model hehe.

As for the pedals i did the reverb first, its a straightforward build plenty of room to work, it worked on trying but cut out, i traced it to a dry joint on a capacitor, sorted from the top. If you look close theres a small heat mark on a film cap where i had to squeeze past to reach  No problem really. I highly recommend the mod switch without it the reverb level is a bit too much. Just a switch with a series resistor in parallel with an original board resistor.

The second is a bog standard version of the OD/2 it was more cramped but taking it steady and checking twice (3 times if needed) solder once) it was ok. Its worked fine and sounds nice. There are modded versions whereby various bits are swapped out, money allowing if its worth the change id probably go for another build rather than mod this one ?

I found the naffest bit on both pedals are the psu input jacks, they can cause connection noises. They can be susceptable to noise pick up as well, the better the supply psu the quieter they seem to be. More experiment needed praps.

As for the pond have better pics if you need em :D didnt deliberatly exclude my mug i should post a pic so you peeps know what i look like

Hi again Alan: thanks for the update. Far East Guitars, eh? That one's new on me. Uh-oh: look at that CIJ '52 Tele. Oh my. Take cover - GAS attack!

That is tidy electrical work indeed. Respec'. And most inspiring too: thank you. Seriously.

This is obviously the most important bit. What the guitar playing world wants to know is, how the heck are you keeping the slugs off your hostas? (Presuming you are the hosta grower, that is...)

Anyway, on all of the above: congrats. 8)

Cheers man - C
