In leau of what others have posted concerning the new 2010 ebony and ivory american std. strats, can anyone please send me some pics of the vintage white strat? It would be very much appreciated. I saw some pictures of the black strat, but I wonder if that truly is the real deal. FCS says they have not shipped yet. Also, the pics of the black strat I saw, had 11 screws for the pickguard. I thought the real deal ones would have only 8. Thanks in advance for any info!!!

Thanks! I've seen this one picture, but I was wondering if someone might have more detailed pictures or more info on the guitar itself.

I heard the same thing from FCS, but then was told that some were made, but others are still to be built. Depending on who and when you speak with someone, you'll get vastly different stories.

One thing I found odd about mine, was that the SN has no letter code.

JR.com has a picture. Indeed more than 8 screw pickguard.

I like the vintage white w/maple a lot! If I see one, I may pull the trigger (again, you can never have too many strats), but don't tell me that color is worth an extra $400 - please! I've seen the olympic white standards, and they're not as cool as I thought they'd be (imho). The antiquie white looks real nice.

Here's a link to the Ivory:

The one at the Interstate Music link isn't the "Ivory" version that goes with the "Ebony."

I cant see what the fuss is about- they do a matching headstock in two of the most plain-jane conservative colours: Black and White. Thats meant to be called a "special run"

How abouts doing a matching headstock in say- Burgandy Mist, Lake Placid Blue, Candy Apple Red or Tangerine? Ice Blue Metallic or Ocean Turqoise, or Pewter- perhaps digging up old Carribean Mist... Even Sunset Orange Flake would look better :)

Matching headstocks are soo unflattering in non-metallic flat paint finishes, does anyone agree? I hope someone at Fender reads this... :?

Give me a job at Fender. I'll have my own desk, pay me double the norm to do half the work  I promise Ill have the punters wanting the "Special Run" guitars soo badly, they'd all be wanting to trade their wives for one everytime they roll off the line

Actually looks like the the guitar Buddy Guy's been using recently and which I had some to and fro with ME about not long ago.
You'd they'd post these short runs somewhere on the website for our perusal instead of coming up by chance because someone happened to be lucky enough to be in the right store at the right time.

Thanks everybody. I called fender again, and they said that the vintage white one won't be out until september at the earliest! The ivory and ebony one are indeed already out in stores, but not the vintage white (creamy yellow) oh. well, I guess I'll just wait. thanks for the info.

hey guys,

i hang out down at Mason's Music here in Dalton GA and they have 2 of the Vintage White Am Std's without the matching headcap, and 1 more on the way, along with 2 matching headcap models on the way in 2 weeks.

and straight from the Fender rep- they retail at 1299.99 on the non-matching headcap models... same as the regular old american standard.
