There appears to be some similar, but different FSR or Limited Run Strats available. I purchased one that has the regular Fender Corona neckplate, Vintage White with single ply 11 hole pickguard. I sent the serial # to fender and got all the specs. It is one of a Special Run of only 30 guitars. Not the same one as the Ebony & Ivory Strats or the one that Sweetwater sells.

Hi Randy1, well that explains it. There are different 2010 FSR's each for the various dealers. Apparently each dealer requests their own special specifications and lesser quantitys. So you have even a more rare model being that only 30 were made. These are very nice guitars for the price!
Thanks for sharing your info and picture! :)

There are definitely at least two different "FSR" or "Limited Edition" Strats available in 2010, because I am the proud owner of both versions.

The first was called (by the dealer) a "Fender Special Run Standard American Stratocaster - Vintage White)" and he sent me the spec sheet showing only 25 were made. It's just like the picture in the above post: a yellowish-colored body, single-ply 11-hole pickguard, and regular "Fender Corona" neckplate. The headstock is tinted the same color (maple) as the neck.

We'll call that Version 1.

This guitar with the SAME name and SAME model number is offered by Sweetwater and another online dealer called Leitz Music), but the color is not as yellow, the one-ply pickguard has 8 holes, and it has a "Limited Edition" neckplate.

We'll call that Version 1-A.

A few days later, I ordered a "Fender Limited Edition Standard American Stratocaster - Ivory" which came in a color Fender calls "Ivory" (pretty much like Olympic White). This one has the matching Ivory headstock. It has the standard 3-ply 11-hole pickguard, and it does indeed have a "Limited Edition" neckplate. The spec sheet says 150 of these were made in Ivory, and another 150 were made in Ebony (with matching Ebony headstock).

We'll call that Version 2. And the Ebony version would be 2-A.

So how's THAT for confusing? The guitar that is not officially called a "Limited Edition" was actually made in a much smaller run (only 25) than the "Limited Edition" version, which was limited to 150 Ivory/150 Ebony.

Everything else — pickups, bridge, tuners, etc. — is exactly the same, and they both play like a dream. The satin finish on the back of the neck, matched with the gloss finish on the front, is fantastic.

So I know where a couple of these guitars are in a shop. These are yellow in color "vintage white" but theyre not quite as yellow as the one in the picture above. I played one a couple of weeks ago. Great playing guitar. I think These are the 150 piece run. Was wondering how much more will these be worth in terms of resale later on than a regular one just like 'em. I think I'm gonna go back and buy one. I was tempted to get one while I was there before. According to their website they still have two.

Yes, well explained. Any Fender Official dealer can demand FSR units for its own store and its own store only. Other stores may have on demand their own, or even similar to get in the competition, but some stores forget to see the details, neckplates for instance, locking tuners in other cases, and if the store doesnt ask for a Limited Edition neck plate, it will not come with it. If a store only demands 30 units of a model, there´s only what will be.
Sweetwater always take care of asking for the Limited Edition neck plate, but not all dealers have that kinda care when describing a FSR for Fender guys.
Doesnt matter if yours doenst got the limited neck plate, its still a Fender Special Run.

I just found one of the Vintage White models with the limited edition neck plate and will be picking it up tomorrow. It is such a sweet looking guitar. I have wanted a strat for awhile and hemming and hawing over whether to get a mim strat upgraded with graphite saddles and vintage noiseless pickups for $600 or get a used american deluxe for a little over a grand and then I found this guitar. I like the color so much and that it has a nitro finish and comes with a great case. Ahhh Christmas has indeed come early this ear for me.
