Yeah but the computer is actually a British invention, even the home computer. Not just those rooms of machines you used to see. Ask Bill Gates, microsoft owes all of it's early success to the support of BBC computers and Clive Sinclair.
As for pizza, its only a derivative of another UK invention. Welsh Rarebit or more commonly known as cheese on toast.

As well as a whole list of other things that people mistakenly believe didnt originate in the UK. TV, radio, not just language but verbal expression, telephones, thermonic valves, alcohol, Cairo, gravity, martians, the sun, curry, belly button fluff and Austrailia.

All wonderfull inventions from these isles.

Nothing new their then :P

I'm serious though, you can trace everything back to the UK. Just ask this bloke, even God is British.

I won't bother linking his other clips for fear that his humour doesn't cross water too well.

I don't care if SRV, Hendrix, and Clapton all played this guitar and wrote their best stuff on it too! No guitar will ever be worth that much (at least while the value of the dollar remains were it is)

Oh, I know! The bid was in PESOS!!!!!

Weapon X

I know you were only joshing mate. As was I, pizza isn't cheese on toast. It's cheese on toast with tomato.

All good fun and no malice. Thats the way I always do business. I haven't had any mail off you in a while. However towards the begining of next week, I will have something for you to see. Until then it's hush hush.

Ok, this thread has made for a good read at 3am.

I really hope our fellow friend Jim hasnt chimed out completely-

I was wondering if you'd be interested in trading that '57 for my MIM standard strat?

...Ok guys, I figure if Jimmy can ask:

**5 Million Dollars**

For that '57, I Figure I will never know untill I try... who knows. Maybe he might like my guitar  It could be my lucky day.

FYI I am kidding

I love my strats but I think I'd take the Picasso before Jims' Strat. It would be a much better investment and would appreciate at a faster rate than that beat up, worn out, highly modified $5M strat!

Did I do something to insult you?
Please don't insult my Strat...... They would have to pay me money to hang that ugly Picasso on my walls.... I'll take a houseful of 1957 Strats over that ugly so called art.....
Modified? I replaced the tuners because the originals were about shot... I had the neck re-fretted because the frets were shot, I had the neck refinished to keep from damaging it.... I never intended to sell her back in 1982... I've had her almost 50 years, still love her, but can't play her.... Hadn't seen her in 28 years, and it might be another 28 if I make it that long....

Sorry - just teasing Jim - actually I'm very jealous and would take your strat any day over a stupid Picasso.

I just wanted to see if your were still listening.

Man, I must give you really high marks for creativity and sticking to your guns; I've haven't seen this kind of a dust storm on this site in a long while!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good luck with all you do! sincerely...

Jim all kidding aside,as a relatively small collector(26) of vintage guitars I don't think that it's right to keep such a beautiful instrument locked away.An instrument is made to bring the joy of music to the player and listener.surely there must be someone in your family who could let that beautiful instrument sing as it was intended to.I play all my guitars in rotation because to keep any of them stored away silent and never played wouldn't justify keeping them.Having all these guitars I feel that I'm just the present custodian as any good musical instrument that's taken care of could be played by many generations of musicians over a period of centuries. The violin that Itzhak Perlman plays has brought joy to many musicians and thousands of listeners over the 300 years since it was made, please find some alternative to keeping that beautiful relic locked up and mute-set her free and let her sing. The guitar will never sell for 5 million dollars.
