I'm proud of my Strat, my dad bought her and a Gibson amp for $100 from a co-worker in St. Louis.......

I'm proud that I continued to work, even now after my accident..... I've written and designed some cool electrical, electronic and computer programs over the years...

You can come to my house anytime, bring whoever you want to examine my 1957 Strat...... I'll give you my address, even though it's on all my web sites... I've never tried to hide my identity.....

Auction is over again, it'll still take $5,000,000 to get her from me.....

Have a wonderful life..... Jim Simon

Cool! It looks/sounds like you had a great dad, have a great family, a great life, and have done really well (despite your accident).

You should indeed be proud!
:)

Its YOUR Strat, so you get to set the price! Good luck!

i got a '93 Fender Stratocaster Southern Cross Made in Brazil, its really special to me as my grandfather gave me when i was a child. It remains unplayed until nowadays.

i got offers on it, but still i cant sell this for its emotional value.

this guy really doesnt want to sell his guitar. to me its just a SHOWOFF thing.
everybody got its own problems, if its not a chair, it could be cancer or aids. pitty your ownself will never get you 5mil.

in his place i would really not give up and fight it until i can move the fingers, nothing is impossible, and then maybe beeing a great guitarrist on a chair would get 5mil on records and shows.

there said, if this guy showed his love for guitars, but got none rig, and in a chair but he fought to get his fingers working with damn hard work i would buy him a squier or a mex strat for his sake.

then again to me, SHOWOFF, no pitty from me. Sorry if i offended someone buy this, but when still theres life, theres fight.

Gilmour´s and Clapton´s signature make a strat worth 3-4k new. Why should your signature on the back of the old strat with a replaced neck should worth 5mil? On my seeing you writing something on a vintage instrument just make its value decreases.

Have you ever tried to write leo fender about your history? maybe he can buy your "unique" strat for 5mil, put it on fender museum and do a industrial line of strat reissues all with your signature on the back. Or maybe NOT.

+1
I agree.

Jim when you say "Auction is over again, it'll still take $5,000,000 to get her from me..... " Well no one is forcing you to sell the guitar. Sounds like you really don't want to let the guitar go. You won't accept less than 5mil and no one will pay close to 5mil. The guitar isn't even worth 50 grand. So basically no one is "going to get her" from you. Sounds like you're begging for attention (showoff). I sympathize with your situation, but if you really want to sell the guitar get it appraised at Gruhn's and lower the price to a sane amount.

Why would someone pay 5 million for your Strat when you can get an actual rock star's Strat for less??? Yngwie Malmsteen's 1955 Strat for only $19,999 right here:

I don't even know why I read and responded to this thread. Why am I arguing in an obvious troll thread? I'm done.

I just think it's interesting, because when you do a little research via google, you find out that he has a web design business and a DJ business. Now, I'm not saying this guy isn't legit or not, but how long does it take to design a webpage "laying on your side and typing with one finger"? Or, how much mobility is involved hauling equipment to and from gigs in the wedding DJ business? Maybe it's his "lazy son" doing all the work.

I don't really care, I just thought it was interesting.

If Erik Clapton's history-making guitar in only half a million, how is this douche-bag's guitar worth that?

Easy now - there are also pictures of Jim in a wheel chair on his Facebook page, with a huge family, including brother, kids, grandkids, etc....so all that is 100% legit...and I forget now but it was obvious the DJ business is his brother's or son's.

I've had enough of you're DUMBASS insults......
I've got lots more web sites than that.......

Simon's Sounds is my son's page I did for him.... Yes I dj'd for years after my accident, after having my right leg amputated in 2005 because of an infection, I gave all my gear to him.......

You must lead one HELL of a boring life as to have nothing better to do than try to make me look like a liar that wants attention......

I'm too damn busy for this crap.....

Call me if you want all the other details of my life....

Jim Simon

Thank god there's a few good people like you on this forum......

All I did was put my guitar for sale, after almost 50 years because some idiot paid 106 million for a painting I wouldn't hang in an out-house....

Jim

No need for insults or name-calling. I don't lead a boring life, I just had a couple of minutes to spare. I figured it was something like that, I just wanted a little clarification. Have a good day.

Jim, your observation is quite right and it goes to show you how greed has affected our society. How they come up with these numbers is beyond me.Its most likely someone that "has to have it now!" syndrome.
