IMHO, it is the wrong time to sell any of them. the market is flooded with gear and the prices are dropping like a rock.

In short, it is a buyers markets and you won't get much for any of them, not near as much as when you try to replace them once this crises passes.

A second job would be more the way to go, even if it's flippin' burgers at night.

Just my 2 cents worth form someone that has been there and done that.

Trust me, getting a seond job on my mind. I'm even looking at Coast Guard reserves too. I'm finding out the hard way about prices. I found a guitar is worth the same stock as it is upgraded. I can't believe a guitar is worth more in pieces then a whole. No one cares what pickups, cases, or any other upgrades were added. I wish I'd kept the old pickups, I'd put them back in in a heartbeat!

Words of wisdom there. I keep all my OEM parts to but back on just in case I sell them or want to restore them to factory specs.

Detroit,

If your actually living in Michigan I know times are really tough there. I think the unemployment rate there is highest in the country. I have a friend living up there and he is living with his parents trying to pay school loans and making ends meet. If you have kids to support its even harder. If you can be away from home for an extended period you may want to take a position in another area. There is usually a lot of work on the Louisiana Gulf and Texas too. I don't know what kind of work you do.

God bless you for your devotion to your children.

My Ibanez really can't be sold because its bridge is lifting. I won't expect more then maybe $40 for it in its condition. The Epiphone is worth much more, just not as much as I expected. Turns out upgrades don't count in guitars when you take to a store. Better off having cheap electronics then upgrades, same goes for hardware, such as strap locks or pickguards.

I sold my Epiphone G-400 a couple of days ago to some high school kid down the street from me who said that he's been wanting to get a Gibson SG but couldn't afford one. Ever since I got my 60th Anniversary Strat, I haven't been touching it, so I told him to come over and take a look at it. He tried it, loved it, and wanted it. I let him have it for $200.00, with the HSC. Now I just have my Strats and I'm perfectly okay with that!

I guess I'll hope for the same for my Epiphone. Maybe some kid will take care of it and appreciate it.
