Hey guys/gals,
my new strat has a snap-in tremolo, and before I go breaking this thing, how does it come out? I am assuming you just pull 'till it pops, but I am going to ask first before I do something I regret....

Yep, you just pull it straight out... don't wiggle it around, as it won't help. Congratulations on the new Strat!

heres what you do mate.

Loosen all the strings at the tuners, then take the trem springs off the back of the trem.

Take the trem away from the body (with the strings still on, saves time later.)

On the back of the trem block you will see two grub screws. The one nearest the top of the trem controls how much the tremarm swings. The bottom one controls how easy/hard the trem is to fit/remove from the tremolo unit.

Undo that bottom one till your happy with it (i.e not too tight, not too loose).

It will become easier over time so be prepared to do it again in a few years.

You can just push the trem arm down and see the grub screws (for a quick way to do it). I dont like doing that way on new guitars. I've damaged the finish doing it and hurt my fingers too.
