Can a Tele neck go on a Strat without intonation or other issues?
As in, is there enough adjustment in the bridge to allow for the Tele neck switch?

Why? I love the sound of a Strat. But play Teles a lot better. I have a MIM Strat. Only reason I bought a MIM is the built in midi pick up.

Don't like playing it, although it sounds fine. If a Tele neck would work, I'd change out the pups for better ones.

Thanks in advance!

Not really going to fit too well. Tele's have a square heel, Strat's have a radiused heel. So if you put a tele neck on a strat body and the bolt holes line up ok, your still going to have a massive gap between the neck heel and the body on your strat.

Not sure about the intonation though, I wouldn't imagine it'd cause any issues as they are the same scale length.

Another alternative is to get a custom neck made up by Musikraft or someone so it has a tele profile with a strat heel. I personally think a tele headstock looks stupid on a strat, but hey I like strat headstocks on a tele, everyone has their own taste!

No, it cannot be done unless you order some sort of one-off custom neck.

As Grum27 noted, Telecasters have a square heel while Strats are endowed with a rounded version. This implies that a Strat neck can be retrofitted to a Telecaster -- with a small gap present at the join. Tele necks on the other hand will not fit into a Strat neck pocket without extensive modification, either to the neck itself or the guitar body.

Personally I don't see the aesthetic advantage of putting a Telecaster neck on a Stratocatser. Although, like Grum27, I think Strat necks look great on Telecasters.

OK, fill me in! That's exactly what I want to do!

Thanks for the pic.

Hey guys, I don't care if there is, or is not any asthetic value to doing this. As I mentioned, I don't like playing Strats. I prefer Tele necks.

It's for playability, not looks. :)

That's the deal, my friend. No mass-produced Telecaster neck will fit on a Stratocaster body without first making adjustments to the neck pocket--a dangerous task if you're not a highly competent carpenter or woodworker.

Same thing for the Strat neck install into a Tele body.

EC had put Brownie's neck into a sunburst double-bound Custom Telecaster body. The "Blind Faith" Telecaster was born. This guitar has been widely used during a Blind Faith concert at Hyde Park in 1969.

Here's an exquisite Custom Shop "Blind Faith" Telecaster replica made by John English and Mark Kendrick. This guitar is not mine. Some models were available with a 22-fret Eric Clapton Strat neck, others such this one had a modified 21-fret '56 Strat neck.

Fender did a "Bullet" Strat in the 80's. Tele style neck on a Strat body. the input jack was a straight plug in through the pickguard like an SG.

Did you mean these guitars? Bullets came in single & double-cutaway guises and sported a wide variety of pickup configurations (this collection is not mine).

Definitely the worst early 1980s guitar junk ever made!
