I have a 2010 American Deluxe and I want to adjust the tremolo so that is acts like a solid bridge. I have never used a tremolo before and I don't want to give up on bends with a second note. Thanks for all your inputs.

My first thought is, why don't you give the tremolo a chance? Stratocasters were designed fot them. On the other hand, screw the bolts down in the back until the bridge is flush with the body.

String tension needs to equal spring tension if you're setting up your trem to use. That way it won't go out of tune. Ancient secrets revealed!
