Hi all

I just installed a SD hotrails pickup in the bridge of my American Standard Strat.
I'm into rock and hard rock, and this pickup is just what I have been missing. I have it wired so that I can use the tone knob with the bridge pickup and its really awesome.
I am loving the new sound.

Now I am already looking at swapping out the other pickups.

Does anyone know what will compliment the hotrails well for the middle and neck?

Has anyone else changed out all of their fender stock pickups?

THanks!!

Use a Duncan Cool Rails bridge model in the middle position and a Cool Rails neck model in the neck position.

I'd venture to say that 99% of us here have changed out our stock Fender pickups at one time or the other.

I've changed the pups in 3 American Standards,I just didn't care for the originals.Once you start swapping pickups,it gets to be a fun thing to try and see what different tones you can come up with...that and being expensive.

I just rebuilt a MIJ contemporary using a hotrails in the bridge, and two Carvin TBH-60's in the neck and middle (they are twin blades like the Hotrails). The sound is well balanced, and I have them wired to all be used as spilt (single coils) or humbucking.

i put it in the neck, personally i think it sounds great, it has a really rich tonal shape and it really works well with the hotrail

I was thinking of going with a cool rails in the middle and a Lil '59 in the neck.

Heck yeah I change them out all the time.

My H-H-H Strat has a Dimarzio Tone Zone in the bridge spot and 2 Pro Track humbuckers in the neck and middle positions.

My Tele has Seymour Duncan quarter pounders in it

My SG has EMG's

Stock pickups are just too generic sounding for me.
