Well, according to the product dating on this site, my 1975 Strat, which was bought in 75 apparently is a 76 - Ive had this guitar looked at before and it was dated as a 75 - the site here shows that a 75 Strat's serial # is between 400,000-500,000 - mine is in the 600,000's, so is this legit?

CV - where does the serial on your '75 fall?

Those serial number listings are only approximate.

Numbers in the 600,000s were used on guitars produced in 1975.
It seems you have one and I have one as well.

Thats pretty much what I was thinkin too OrvilleOwner - Ive had several people look at it over the years and all said it was a 75 - pots are for sure - and the guitar is 100% original - appears that the dating system listed on this site isnt 100% accurate

A buddy of mine said the same thing you said this evening about the 600,000's being used in 75

Regardless, that guitar isnt goin anywhere!! I love it!

The best way to date your Strat is by looking at the date stamps on the heel of the neck and in the body pickup cavity or neck joint, where ever it happens to be.

Follow this link to acurately date your strat...
