Hey,

I am looking at what a seller is calling a recent Fender 1950's reissue.

Here are the numbers he gave me:

Fender 50's Strat

Reissue number : 66810

Serial Number : 0271002586

Can you guys tell me country of orgin and year built ??

Thanks,

I'm not to sure how accurate the guitar dater project is but here is what it came up with for your reissue number.

Your guitar was made at the
Fullerton Plant (Fender - Pre CBS Era), USA
in the Year(s): 1960 - 1961

I'm assuming that it is a reissue of the above mentioned years.

Can you post pic's..

kk,

Don't mess with me, it's too early.

Seriously, a geniune 1960 or 1961 ??

The only picture I have is a real grainy one.

It looks black with a maple neck with the walnut
truss rod plug.

I have requested more pictures from him, no luck yet.

Best,
BC

Yeah It doesn't seem to add up hey???

Maple Neck, walnut trussrod plug...all sounds 50's like series...

disregard the last post...I only chucked in the reissue serial number that you gave and that was the result...hmm..

Try and get some pic's....I would also becareful with purchase until you are fully aware of what it is....sorry to state the obvious...

Cheers.

An American Vintage Reissue should have a V serial on the neckplate, and a mexican reissue would have a serial that starts with M

Mystery solved.

It was a 2000 Made in Japan with this crazy purple
grained/flamed body and a 54-57 neck. Did have a 54
string tree.

We couldn't agree on a price.

Time for another guitar goose chase.

Best,
