I'm torn I'm normally a maple guy... but I think rosewood goes better with the black red black pickguard. The natural blonde in maple clashes with the red to my eye.

Here is a sample of one I did a while back in Rosewood. As you can tell, I have favored Rosewood on a lot of these Strat Plus custom builds:

This same setup look great in Black Pearl as well!

Or with Tortoiseshell pickguard with Chrome Domes:

Well, if it was me personally - I'd go with naturally streaked Ebony with a compound radius. But good luck finding that on an OEM strat neck. I'm sure whatever you choose it'll look fine.

P.S. What kind of pups are in it? The colored logos on them look kinda cool.

As a visual artist, to my eyes, the rosewood dark tone blends better with the black body color, the maple is too contrasting and that strat has a "glam" look to me.

I am using Lace Sensor pickups, which were part of the Strat Plus line for years. The Chrome Domes are Lace Sensors that have chrome covers and are slightly hotter. I usually custom order the neck Chrome Domes in a "blue" winding so it is hotter and has more of want-to-be humbucker sound (like a P-90 some say)....Great for blues or jazzy sounds in the neck.

As you can tell by the other picts posted, I have favored that too, untill I did one recently with a Maple neck and a Chrome humbucker in the neck (see below). It kind of grew on me..... I am still thinking about this as I will not finish this till next week. I appreciate everyone's opinion. So until then I will see how the votes come in!

Like a previous poster said, you could cook that rosewood off and replace it with jet ebony for a uniform look, but I like maple necks on strats. It helps make a strat what it is to me. A shot of tinted clearcoat would set that off quite nicely!

The chrome pickups make the Maple neck look fine on this guitar, because it follows all the way down to the bridge (chrome tuners, frets, pickups, bridge). But it looks weird on the first guitar in my opinion. Still have to say Rosewood for my taste.
