Hi,
What is under the pickguard of a 1996 American standard Strat, the ones with the 50th anniversary sticker underneath the tuners?
Is it a volume, tone, and no-load tone pot, or a Volume and two tone pots, or a volume, tone, and a Tbx tone control, or something else???

The reason is, I recently bought a secondhand vintage white 1996 standard Stratocaster. Underneath the pickguard was a volume and two tone pots in it, but the tone pots werent working at all and all the wiring was done with only white wire, no black at all except the one coming from the tremeloclaw on the back of the Strat, so i think the Stratocaster had to be altered, and the electronics and wiring must have for some mysterious reason been changed in some stage of its life. The pups are original and sound fabulous with the maple neck,
I really would like to restore the electronics as it was in that era,
can somebody help me?
Thank you very much.

Not sure if this will help, but there are parts list/wiring diagrams here:

http://www.fender.com/support/wiring_di ... _lists.php

They do have listed a "Standard Stratocaster® LH 013-4620/22 11/05/99" - seems the closest to one that long ago.

Thank you very much for your reply, but I forgot to mention that it's an 1996 American standard Stratocaster.
Does anyone have a American Stratocaster from that same year?
To recognise the tone pots:...If one (or both) tone pots have a detend from '9' on then they are no-load pots,or if the brdge and middle tone pot has a detend from '5' on its a Tbx.
Thank you very much.
