Hi guys,

I'm looking for a good reference book either dedicated to the Stratocaster or about Fender in general and was looking for some of your recommendations of the best one to go for?

I am looking for more of a reference book as opposed to simply a picture book of different models (I already have one like that), including information on colours/finishes used, dates, changes over the years etc, I think you probably get the idea.

Only, I did a search on the net, and there are so many to choose from, I wasn't really sure which way to go?

Anyway, thanks as always for any suggestions,

Russ :)

The Stratocaster Chronicles is a good book. I got it several years ago. It's sort of the best of both worlds, lots of information in addition to nice pictures. :) It may not be exactly what you're looking for, so be sure and look into everyone else's suggestions too.

I've read both and enjoyed them very much.

The Fender Book by Tony Bacon and Paul Day has a lot of good information.

Thanks guys,

It certainly looks like 'The Stratcoaster Chronicles' is the most popular choice from the replies so far!

I'll take a look at it!

Thanks again

Russ

It's a great book!
Got it for Christmas last year and I keep on the coffee table all the time.

I like Duchossoir's book, but it's really for the guy who wants to know the nitty gritty details of vintage Strats.

Another good one to have in your collection is Ralph Denyer's THE GUITAR HANDBOOK. Initially came out circa '82, there is a revised edition out. 28 yrs later still one of the best ones completed. It's like the mechanic's book for guitars...IMO.
