Hiya guys! Question here for a first-time strat modification

I'm thinking of upgrading my strat. I've set my eyes on the mid-boost preamp from the buddy guy and clapton strats, and on a set of texas special pickups. However, it says "for all passive pickups" on the preamp, and I didn't really understand whatever that meant. Will the pickups work with the preamp? And if not, are there any good alternatives? :)

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Passive pickups are those which are NOT preamped themselves. So, if you have the stock Strat pickups in your guitar, they are certainly passive and the Clapton boost (preamp) is compatible. As far as alternative preamps, check out, EMGINC.com. Their preamps work with passive pickups too.
