Hopefully, the link works. This was my first "rebuild" - I purchased it in a playable condition, but just "wasn't me" as far as the finish goes. I like the natural look, my '79 MIA model is natural, but this body was meant to be painted, and I wanted to do a build that would not take me too long, so here it is.

The "specs"
'85-ish MIJ Fender Contemporary Stratocaster
22-fret, 12 inch radius rosewood fretboard
LSR roller nut
System I or III trem (not sure)
H-S-S pickguard with oddball sized humbucker swapped for S-S-S
loaded with two Carvin TBH60 Twinblade pickups and Semour
Duncan Hotrails pickup, all wired for humbucking or all three split
added script Fender "F" neck plate
Painted in Nitrocellulose based, Orange Metallic and Clear

It plays great and looks great - very satisfied

Very nice! How is the trem on that? I have never played one. Looks similar to the old Washburn Wonderbars, and those are the $@!&!

I like it - it is smooth, and so far, no tuning issues. Unlike Floyd, no cutting string ends, but getting the strings under the retainers is slightly tricky, especially on the lower (thicker) strings.

Thank you all for the comments and for pointing out the difference in System I vs System III. This was a nice, easy project that I hope to enjoy for years. My only concern would be parts availability (the trem), if ever needed.

Unfortunately they are rare and very far between my suggestion is you find out the sizing and all that and have the arm made by a metal expert.

We have ours made in our local dockyard for about £10 a time :?
If you see one of these sold on Ebay the chances are that they have come to devon into my tutors social circle as they collect these like crazy 8)
